On a fall night in 1776, Ben Franklin, John Adams and Edward Rutledge contemplate the reality of a failing revolution while cooped up in an overcrowded tavern on the eve of a potential peace conference.
The absurdity of the lodging situation, forcing Adams to share a bed with Franklin (a known nude bather), juxtaposed to their dire situation and self doubt, lead audiences from laughter to tears and back again.
